Elements is the consequence of the change of awareness achieved through re²-encontro series:
all matter is alive and charged with spirit.
These artworks were conceived during my Nature walks.
Stepping on the Earth’s skin, gave me the feeling that mountains,
rocks and trees were trying to communicate something.
I stopped, observed, got inspired by shapes and textures and started to paint on their surface,
making bright and visible the essence of their message through a great contrast between acrylic colors
(ultramarine blue, white, fluorescent pink and yellow) and natural tones of rocks, dry leaves, musk and ground.
I have left the painted rocks and trees as a reminder to the people passing by,
to contemplate and to listen to the spirit of Nature, in order to reestablish a connection
that is often forgotten in the modern society.
I photographed what I painted and then printed it on canvas,
to transfer the experience of the natural environment to the walls of urban spaces.
By painting in oil on top of the photograph,
I have reinterpreted the original artwork:
adding other tones, new subjects and details created a new dimension.
In the final work is not possible to distinguish what has been painted on the natural element
from what has been painted on the photograph.
Matter and spirit merge into a new indivisible reality.
