Having spent one month in Venice, totally immersed in a veil of light and fog, experiencing a new,
unknown sensation of being suspended between life and death, inspired the series transparence(s).
I was feeling absent from reality, not attracted to the metropolis anymore,
living a sort of unknown moment, aware of waiting for a new beginning.
After the strong colors of émotions parisiennes
I felt the need of experiencing something far away from my natural inclination: the absence of colors.
Realness lost its volumes and details to turn into a subtle, almost transparent matter.
This created an overall perception of wait, a momentum between real and surreal, known and unknown,
where people seemed to be melting into the environment, becoming nearly see through.
The sources of light, especially the ones coming from dark backgrounds,
appeared unnaturally and mysteriously far away and invited me to chase them to look deeper and deeper.
In the beginning of the series the concept of waiting and its lightweight transparency was predominant,
then a mystical perspective took over: the subjects became more materic,
trying to emerge from the fog and regenerate into an infinite cycle.
